Today I decided to work from home so viewing the sunrise was slightly awkward as there are houses all around that block a pretty view. But I managed to catch is sneaking through the houses and cascading onto our back deck.
October 1st seems to have brought with it cold fall weather. Fall is not one of my favourite seasons to begin with because I prefer warmth, but now it is the start to the anniversaries of Hunter. Not that I don’t enjoy thinking of him and remembering him because I do, but because they are a reminder that he isn’t here.
As I sat and watched the sunrise I wondered, would Hunter have been more of a morning person like his momma? Xander is a good sleeper and likes to sleep in like his daddy. Maybe Hunter would have taken after Xander and Ian, and also liked to sleep in. What would we have been doing if Hunter had survived and was here? Would I have even been able to sit and have a tea and watch the sunrise? Maybe not, maybe the house would be too hectic and I wouldn’t have time to enjoy a tea on the deck. Hunter would be a toddler, so maybe not.
I love sitting on my deck with a tea in the morning, but I would give up the ability to do that if it meant he was still here.
